Get to know me

Who I am? I am a fun-loving person who loves to be surrounded by people and likes to communicate with them – in short a people’s man.

What motivates me? In my professional life, new initiatives and challenging projects keep me motivated. While, in my personal life, I like being around kids and spending time with underprivileged people.

How I came into publishing? Accidentally! I joined Ratna Sagar as a sales representative and later Oxford University Press, followed by 16 years at Pearson and now Madhubun from 2015.

A day in my life

How I start my day? I start my day with Yoga and a cup of coffee. When in office, during peak season, my day starts with reviewing sales numbers and I make sure things are on track. I jot down my To-do list and get going.

My day ends at: At times, my day ends with spending time with my son, playing Playstation with him, chatting or engaging in a pillow fight. Sometimes, I like to just listen to music or read books.

My stress buster: Music and conversation with a like-minded pearson.

Life is to Live

Favourite sport: I have been playing Cricket since school and college days and am also a part of Madhuban cricket team. I also like soccer.

Favourite books: Jack Welch- Winning

Favourite movies: Fast and Furious, Zindagi na milegi Dobara

Favourite actors: Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Favourite destination for Holidays: Switzerland as I loved the beauty of the place and spent good amount of my time there with my family.

Any Bucket list: Cuba and adventure sports like skydiving and biking.

Work is passion

Business leader who motivates you: Dhiru Bhai Ambani, Steve Jobs and Sundar Pichai

Madhuban-in one liner: Is a great content company, with highly talented people not afraid of attempting anything new.

My people Mantra: Transparency and communication are keywords. If there is a problem, it is for everyone in the team and the solution has to come from the team itself.

To be a leader is: To be a part of team. A leader has to demonstrate in action, not by words. Motivating people and encouraging them is very important.

An exciting point in a typical day’s work: I like to work in an open atmosphere. I like it when my team shares their successes and problems with me – whether personal or professional!

If you are born again what would you like to be? Maybe what I am right now as I am happy to be in a profession where we are able to educate people. Also, I would like to spend more time with kids.
