The London Book Fair is the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film, and digital channels.

In 2018, LBF will return to Olympia, West London from 10-12 April for a fair covering all aspects of the industry.

Market Focus- The Baltic Countries

The Baltic countries will be the Market Focus for 2018, consisting of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, marking a century since their independence.

“Located at the crossroads between Europe and Russia, the Baltic Countries – Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania – enjoy a rich and cosmopolitan literary history, complementing a fascinating contemporary cultural landscape. 2018 will be a year of celebration for these three countries as they celebrate a centenary of independence, and our Market Focus programme will be part of a wider cultural showcase. We are delighted to be working once again with our partners at the British Council and the Publishers Association, to deliver cultural and professional programmes showcasing the opportunities that the Baltic countries offer,” tells Jacks Thomas, director, London Book Fair.

Conferences

LBF holds various conferences both during the Fair and throughout the year, exploring many different topics such as consumer insight, rights, education and inclusivity in publishing. There's something for everyone!

Insights Programme

The range of topics covered in their Insights Seminar Programme is staggering with 200+ seminars. The programme gives attendees access to educational seminars, interviews, workshops, and demos.

Awards

LBF holds two award ceremonies each year. The International Excellence Awards, celebrating publishing and related activities outside of the UK and The Trailblazers, celebrating those under 30 in the publishing industry.

Submissions are open for the Trailblazer Awards, recognising publishing professionals aged under 30 who are demonstrating innovation and ambition in the book industry. Now in their third year, the awards are run by The London Book Fair, in association with the Publishers Association, supported by the Society of Young Publishers and BookBrunch, and sponsored by Publishing Training Centre. The awards are open to anyone under the age of 30 (as of 12 February 2018).

Five winners will be selected by a judging panel and announced at a ceremony at the Groucho Club in London on 12 February 2018, hosted by The London Book Fair and SYP.

Entrants can enter themselves, or nominate a friend or colleague who they believe deserves to be recognised, by submitting a short description of why they should win in no more than 50 words via the LBF website.

Applications will close on 15 January.
