Beijing International Book Fair Celebrates 40th Anniversary
The Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), Asia’s largest publishing event, celebrate its landmark 40th anniversary (1986–2026) from June 17–21,2026.
As it celebrates 40 years, BIBF also marks a strategic evolution to bridge the gap between traditional publishing and the opportunities of IP licensing and digital creative assets. This transformation will help publishers stay ahead of developments in AI and opportunities in licensing and cross-media IP. There will be an expanded BIBF ComicHub, the first ever IP licensing zone and a new Online Publishing Joint Pavillion to showcase AI innovation. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the Country of Honour, featuring a Cultural Pavilion and a Copyright Pavilion. The UAE presence will anchor a series of high-level China-UAE publishing seminars, underscoring the growing cooperation between Chinese and Arabic publishing markets.
This milestone BIBF, spanning 60,000 square meters at the China National Convention Center, anticipates hosting over 1,700 exhibitors from 82 countries and regions.
BIBF will also host 1,000 cultural events around Beijing, including events hosted by BIBF Global Reading Ambassador Liu Zhenyun and a dedicated exhibition for his latest work.
