DSBPA Successfully Holds Its 76th AGM
The Delhi State Booksellers & Publishers Association (DSBPA) successfully convened its 76th Annual General Meeting, bringing together over 350 members from the bookselling and publishing fraternity to deliberate on key issues concerning the industry, review the Association’s activities and discuss future initiatives.
The AGM was graced by Sudhanshu Mittal (President, Kho Kho Federation Of India And International Kho Kho Federation) as Chief Guest, and Himanshu Chawla, President of DSBPA, along with Ashok Gosain, Vice President; Kartik Raj Kushvah, Secretary; Shubham Jain, Joint Secretary; and Chander Mani Gosain, Treasurer.
There was a special address by Lydia Tacx, Head of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at Elsevier, who spoke on the challenges of piracy and the importance of protecting intellectual property in the publishing industry.
During the meeting, the Association also conducted its election process. As no nominations were received from any other candidates and the existing team filed nominations for the same positions they held previously, the team was elected unopposed, continuing its leadership for the next term.
The Association also recognised the contributions of individuals and organisations through its awards programme, the award recipients included: Best Publisher – Science and Technology: Rajan Jain, Scientific International (Medtech Science Press); Best Distributor: Sunny Jain, BooksWagon; Best Library Supplier: Gaurav Ahuja, TBIPL; Best Publisher (Woman): Trisha Priya, Walnut Publication / Vyusta Platforms; Lifetime Achievement Award: Raj D. Mirchandani, Capital Books; Lifetime Achievement Award: Vijay Ahuja, Delhi Book Store; and Best Publisher – Social Sciences: Sushil Kumar Mittal, DK Printworld.
